WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Story
A recent divorcee lives in fear with her 8-year-old son in a wealthy home. She is haunted by memories of her inhumane ex-husband. These memories soon to be relived as he plots against her and begins follow her continuously.
Mahogany is a short thriller following Meriel, a 35 year old single mother and her only son Grain. Typical of many single parent mothers, Meriel’s son is the centre of her world. Grain is naive and tries to avoid taking sides despite his father's, Garner, abusive behaviour and absence.
Our interest in telling this tale is to raise awareness of domestic violence in current society and the realism of its presence. This theme emphasises the specific haunting fear that is universal to all parents of leaving their children alone.

KORI HUMPHRYS
Kori Humphrys is a film writer and director. He has a successful track record in a wide spectrum of roles as well as previous filmmaking experience as part of TATE collectives working with TATE Modern and TATE Britain. His short films include Anti (2016) and Knock Bally Fall Fly (2015) that was screened at Temporary Space LA, Los Angeles in July 2015. Kori has a library of scripts which can be brought to fruition with your help.

Ania Polewiak is a producer specialising in short films with five years of creative industry practice. Having had ample experience in the role of producer, Ania has also delved into location managing and 1st AD’ing, complimented by working this summer as a production manager on a short film backed by Creative England and BFI.

Jake is an aspiring cinematographer with experience as a camera technician in short films, commercials and feature films. "He is a talented young filmmaker, driven by a strong-minded passion for his craft. [...] He has a great understanding of the practical elements of lighting and camerawork. Furthermore, his lighting shows a bold and innovative approach to the use of colour" - Dr Jonathan Wardle, Director of Curriculum and Registrar at the NFTS.

Sam Clowes has worked on a number of short productions within the Art Department as well as having experience working on Edgar Wrights 'The Worlds End' again in the Art Department. He was also the Production Designer on Kori Humphrys last short film Anti.

Joel Donnan is a short fiction and documentary film editor. He has previously worked as editorial assistant on large scale productions such as Robot Overlords (2014). Independently his documentary and fiction work has been aired on the BBC Arts Show and has found success winning awards at several UK film festivals such as Film Devour & BFF.
